Setting up

Four steps are required, one is skippable. You can change every answer later from Edit Profile.

The basics
First name, date of birth, how you describe yourself, and your city. Age is checked here — Soula is 18+ and there is no way around that.
Two photos, minimum
Up to nine, plus up to three short videos. Your main photo has to be a photo of just you, and the app will tell you kindly if it is too dark.
What you are here for
Pick your intents. It goes on the front of your profile so nobody has to guess, and it shapes who you are shown.
Who to show you
Age range, distance, languages, and the cities or countries you are genuinely open to. Sensible defaults are pre-filled if you would rather move fast.
Five prompts
The only step you can skip. Answer in text or record your voice — this is the part people reply to, so it is worth the four minutes.

Soula is for people aged 18 and over. Accounts that are not are removed, and the data is deleted.
Joining is free. Soula+ is optional and billed by Apple or Google — the subscription terms spell out exactly how renewal works.
Location permission is optional. Without it you can still type your city and use the app.
Read the Safety Centre before your first date. It is short and it is genuinely useful.
